Twilio is the communication layer for most of my automation projects involving SMS or voice. Appointment reminders, lead qualification conversations, document request follow-ups, and re-engagement campaigns all run through Twilio's API.
Twilio's programmable SMS and voice APIs are reliable and cost-effective at the volumes I build for. I use Twilio Messaging for outbound SMS and two-way conversation handling, Twilio Verify for identity verification flows, and Twilio Voice for automated callback systems. For healthcare clients, I build Twilio integrations that comply with HIPAA requirements — PHI doesn't get stored in Twilio beyond the transmission itself, and BAA terms are in place. SMS has a significant engagement advantage over email for time-sensitive communications like appointment reminders — response rates are typically 3–5x higher.
